Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas. We woke up extremely early at our house where we opened presents from each other. I stocked Rob up on all of his favorite foods which included a huge can of hot chocolate (he loves it!). I am not crazy ... I did get him some fun stuff other than food.
We then went to the Robertson's where we watched the girls open their gifts from Santa and then we all opened gifts from each other. This year we decided to get my parents something they would really use. We decided to go in together since we are all earning money and get something cool (i.e. something they wouldn't expect). Dance Lessons! My mom has mentioned how fun it would be and we figured my Dad would be a good sport so we did it. We may have to sneak in and watch, my dad is sure to be a sight to see. Rob and I got a couples massage from my parents. Not to be done by my parents (awkward) but to go and get one. We can't wait! They also gave us a beautiful collectors edition of The Holy Temple. We had the Robertson traditional breakfast of sausage and gravy with biscuits and then had a quick nap.
Then we went in our pajamas to the Dudley's to spend time and open gifts. We gave a group gift to his parents . Dancing lessons! Both of our parents will have all the moves when we are done with them. Then they will have to teach us, who desperately could use it. We got  a date night from Matt and Heather to Guadalajara! We received a lot of date nights for Christmas, they are the best gifts. Rob's parents gave us cash to redecorate our extra room. We plan on visiting IKEA and getting a desk and shelves ...  a real study! We ran to my parent and showered and then back to the Dudley's for dinner.
Next, we then went to my Grandparents to see some more family. It was a great time. We played games and  enjoyed spending time together, which doesn't happen to often. Then went home to sleep from our wonderful Christmas day.

The next day we went with the Robertson's to Washington D.C. On the way we stopped in Williamsburg to visit the pottery (a Robertson necessity). And then headed to D.C. to see the temple and lights. We have a tradition of going to dinner at a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant, which may need to change next year as it seems to get dirtier each year. Then we go to see the lights and a performance at the visitors center. The temple and grounds are beautiful and it is a fun time to spend with family.
